Civic reflection is the practice of reading and discussing short pieces of literature as a means of reflecting on the central questions of civic life.
This simple practice can help citizens talk more comfortably about values, think more deeply about choices, and respond more imaginatively to the needs of their communities.
Civic reflection is now being used by AmeriCorps programs, Rotary clubs, foundations, social service agencies, schools and other civic organizations. Leadership Washington County is thrilled to bring to Hagerstown, Adam Davis, Director of Training and Publications for the Project on Civic Reflection. Davis is the keynote speaker for the Graduation Ceremony & Luncheon for LWC Class 24.
Join us on Friday June 10th from 12-2pm at Fountain Head Country Club to celebrate Class 24′s successful completion of the LWC program . Registration is $35 and available through the LWC website home page by clicking on ‘Register for the Graduation Luncheon.’ Contact Tara Sargent with questions: tara@leadershipwashingtoncounty.org. Visit www.civicreflection.org for more information on the project.
