Steeped in a rich tradition, some 500 graduates strong, the Washington County Leadership Development Program, Inc. is expanding and now has five very separate and distinct programs.
Leadership Washington County (formerly known as Leadership Hagerstown). For current and aspiring leaders, it starts with a weekend retreat followed by nine months of intensive community orientation and involvement.
Student Leadership Washington County is a partnership between Leadership Washington County and Hagerstown Community College. This program uses the Phi Beta Kappa model for leadership studies and brings high school seniors together with selected college students in a nine-month course of study that encourages community involvement.
After graduating from the Leadership Washington County program, participants are encouraged to become active and lifetime members of the Alumni Association. Benefits of membership include a monthly e-newsletter, invitations to special events, networking activities, news of board openings and other opportunities to remain connected and committed to community service.
